In Australia, there are two ways of requesting a National Police Check:
1. An application for police check without providing fingerprints
2. An application for police check with providing fingrprints

It depends on the reason why you would need a Police Check from Australia. Always first ask carefully what statement the organization request, so that you choose the right option.

Step 1

  • Start your application with the Australian Federal Police:
  • When completing this application, they want you to provide a lot of information, this is all clearly described on the website above.
  • Complete the AFP application form and 100 points of identification checklist

Step 2
1) Make an appointment to have your fingerprints taken (note, these may not be electronic live scan fingerprints, but fingerprints taken with ink on hard copy fingerprint cards).
2) Provide the personal data that is requested after making your appointment. This information is necessary to prepare the fingerprint cards and identity statement.
3) During your appointment your fingerprints will be taken and all documents will be prepared for sending (bring your completed application form to the appointment).

Step 3
